Thanks for reporting on this, Brenda.

This ploy by drug firms was never about revenue, it was about control, control of the narrative. By being the primary source of ad revenue for media outlets, mainstream media has been compelled not to tell the truth about pharmaceutical drugs.

We need to remove this lever of power that drug firms have over the media.

This is a great first step of course. But does Bernie stop to think that maybe his acceptance of pharma dollars might be a problem?

Next steps off the top of my head:

- stop pharma funding of the FDA, CDC, and any other alleged "regulatory" agencies

- stop pharma funding of medical journals

- stop pharma funding of medical schools

- stop pharma "gifts" of vacations

- institute independent testing of pharma products

- institute a law of full transparency of drug trials, including the raw data

Thank you for mentioning that $5 billion on TV ads buys INFLUENCE over what the TV stations report to the public.

Why did Sanders and King fail to mention that?

The point of Pfizer advertising is now mostly to cover up the worst crime against humanity ever - the mandates to inject the dangerous and defective mRNA which have killed at least 20 million people across the world so far.

The next step would be to take care of lobbying by all of these companies that effect legislation. This is the first step though.

I think you could get bipartisan support to ban these ads. My question, would it include the many infomercials and ads for the emergency kits from The Wellness Company? What about ads for specific brands of nutraceuticals?

I guess nutraceuticals would not be covered under section 505 of the FDA Act, but what about the drugs in TWC’s emergency kits? They are prescription drugs.

There is no better example of Big Pharma's television advertisements than their enticement of the US public's demand for the GLP-1 inhibitors. For all age groups, off-label use far exceeds that for the original FDA indication. Big Pharma, FDA, medical practitioners, HHS and the US public appear oblivious to a simple fact, there are no long term safety studies for GLP-1 inhibitors. We are witnessing BIG Pharma's desire to control and capitalize off the US public's desire for weight loss at all cost. Sack all reason, bring on the Doritos and just take the next shot!

This is a very timely article that makes a lot of sense! After reading this article, several points come to mind:

1. Drug advertising is usally directed to Americans with so-called chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, depression, psoriasis and auto-immune disorders. Also in there could be obesity since studies show that of any number of Americans trying to lose weight, 95 percent are back at their given weight one year earlier, so failure is the word here. As long as most Americans think these are always "chronic conditions", they will continue to do little to tackle the actual CAUSES of these conditions. Of course, if taking Rx drugs is your way of thinking or your belief system, it's a "free" country, BUT for every drug out there, there are usually many, safer non-drug alternatives. Still, the Rx companies do not want you to know this (and most doctors are reticent to discuss cheap, effective "natural" solutions to the majority of chronic health troubles out there. Also, reversing or dramatically improving one's health (from this or that health condition/ illness/ disease) with less drugs takes LOTS of work, better nutrition, competent medical guidance, etc.

2. The second thing that comes to mind is that most of the conditions "addressed" by various drug ads may be related to the zillion SIDE-EFFECTS of the Covid shots (and other shots, routinely given to children)! So much has been written on this issue elsewhere, I won't belabor the point, but Tenpenny, Wilcox, Bigtree, Loe-Fisher and many others have done much to discuss how adverse vaccine effects are a (very profitable!) "gateway" to a lifetime of chronic ailments along which a long list of Rx drugs are offered to treat this or that condition! I'm not saying this is the viewpoint of CHD, but it certainly is my viewpoint.

3. Robert Whitiker wrote an excellent book in 2010/2015 entitled "Anatomy of An Epidemic," in which he argued that the explosive rise in psychiatric ailments, worldwide and in the United States, was not INSPITE OF an ever increasing use of many different Rx drugs but BECAUSE OF IT! I would argue similarly that Rx drug advertising does NOT improve overall health outcomes in most Americans, as a whole, and may worsen them! (Of course, Insulin for Type I Diabetes is a must until if and when "someone" helps you to reverse this condition.) The bottom line is a phrase called "All Cause Mortality," meaning deaths from ANY cause and evidence shows that with our ever-increasing dosing of Americans with prescription drugs--many advertised on TV--we're not living any longer! In fact, we're dead last in mortality for the top "developed" nations and this has only decreased in the past four years!

4. I am no fan of Merck pharmaceutical company, but their Vioxx scandal of about 20 years back was not entirely of their making. Many Americans LOVE simple fixes for their health troubles, and Cox-2 inhibitors like Vioxx (& Celebrex/Celecoxib) may help millions with their Arthritis pain. But this "treatment" almost obviates the user from looking at OTHER THINGS they can do to alleviate their arthritis! Are they doing the many OTHER things they could do to alleviate/reduce the actual CAUSES of their arthritis? As I scroll through my text, I noted "Deep Dive" wrote something about controlling the narrative! Thanks Deep Dive--you took the words out of my mouth!

We can go back to 1968 (Pauvo Airola, There is a Cure for Arthritis), 1973 (Vitamin B-6, The Doctor's Report by Ellis & Presley), 1986 (one of many books by Bernard Jensen), 1988 (Theodosakis, The Arthritis Cure), and others to realize that many other useful AND non-toxic tools are available to Americans IF they only knew about them! This is also true for other "chronic ailments/diseases/ auto-immune disorders" -- Rx companies (and the mainstream "health-care system") don't talk much about alternatives. So, as "Deep Dive" mentioned below, yup, it's about controlling the narrative and I'm writing too much, so I'll stop here!
